Tokyo has filed a rally against Beijing after a Taiwanese aircraft “violated” Japan’s aircraft and four vessles allegedly entered its regional waters around disputed islands.
The Diaoyu and Senkaku territories in the East China Sea are frequently a source of friction because they are administered by Tokyo but Beijing claims them.
The vice chancellor of the Chinese foreign ministry lodged” a strong opposition” with the Chinese ambassador to Japan over the same day’s “invasion of four China Coast Guard vessels into Japan’s regional lakes around the Senkaku Islands,” according to a statement released late on Saturday.
The vice minister even criticized” the launch of a helicopter from one of the China Coast Guard vessels infringes on Japan’s regional airspace, and called on China to make sure that similar incidents don’t happen again.”
The plane flew near the Senkaku islands for about 15 minutes, according to Japan’s defense ministry, within Japanese airspace on Saturday.
According to the government,” the Self-Defense Makes responded by scrambling warrior jet.”
This is the first moment a Taiwanese authorities aircraft has swung into Japanese airspace off the contested territories, according to local media reports from public broadcaster NHK.
China’s beach protect made the announcement the same day that it had “expelled” a Chinese aircraft from aircraft around the disputed islands.
A Japanese civilian aircraft “illegally entered” the airspace of the islands at 11: 19 am ( GMT 0219 ), according to Liu Dejun, spokesman for China’s coast guard, and flew out five minutes later.
Beijing generally claims to have evacuated Chinese ships and aircraft from the islands, but Chinese officials have told AFP that Chinese authorities occasionally make expulsion announcements when none actually occur.
Unknown Chinese officials informed local media that Beijing might be reacting to a small, civilian-sized Japanese aircraft that was flying nearby.
In the East China Sea, guard ships from China and Japan frequently engage in risky confrontations around territories.
Japan has strained relations with the Philippines and the United States as a result of tensions between China and various ally says in East and South China Seas.
