Derby Day occurs on the first Saturday in May, when Louisville, Kentucky showcases its best duds, the women don luxurious clothes, and money pours into Churchill Downs ‘ betting windows. I picked up the phone and dialed my companion Derek Simon in response.

Derek devotes himself to separating fact from fiction, whether on the ground, the football, the football stone, or the wood, by using data from dozens of tribes and activities.
His movies on the 2025 work for the roses are available here, as well as his website and betting guide .
What does a seasoned lover expect to see this year’s Kentucky Derby?
I believe a good price is what the everyday enthusiast should look for. That is, in my opinion, but ignored in the Derby despite being but crucial. In the most recent movie I watched, I discussed a study they conducted on sports betting. In football games, there is a point spread, which makes it a 50/50 proposition, but 65 % of bettors place their bet on the favorite. Therefore they changed the traces to be even worse for the classics. But perhaps they make it a 10-point collection rather than a 7-point line.  ,
Thus seven or whatever, I’m not sure if they were that intense, but the majority of people also place bets on the favorites. And that’s a circumstance where you know you do have a better chance of winning against the opposing group.  ,
But, in my opinion, people are incredibly ensnared in who they are. I simply don’t believe you should do that in the Kentucky Derby, especially given that the possibilities are typically condensed in any way. On a Breeders ‘ Cup Day, you don’t get the massive long shots. Therefore, look for price. Excellent if you like horses, but you also get great value for them.

The conflict say a lot, but.
To simply concentrate on finding the best equine doesn’t actually make sense because the odds now let you know who the best animals are. Interesting that it does in the Preakness Stakes right then. You can find a lot of favorites who win the Preakness Stakes, particularly those who are Derby-derived. However, I really believe it to be a mistake in the Derby. I believe that many people were sucked in by the introduction of new access regulations. I think it was the favorite’s sixth year in a column that gained. However, that is not the rule. Classics have only won 15 % of the time in a movie I recently made, looking back over many years.  ,
which is still nice because it features a field with 20 horses. However, it’s not very good. And it does state that if the percentage is 15 %, you didn’t get 3-1 or 7- 2 in a field with 20 horses. Simply put, it isn’t very logical.
You discuss the importance of big wins and great wins in previous Derby horse performances in your betting guide and video to decide who will win this race. Does that persist to normal races, or no?
That is a really good problem. In his book, William Quirin mentioned a significant gain in the previous competition and its significant impact potential. He defined the great win a little different than I do, and I want to say at the time that it was either a positive element, a favorable ROI issue, or it was very near.  ,

Yet in ordinary racing, it unquestionably has a high impact price factor. Because it demonstrates the distinction between contenders, regardless of your school degree. You may recall the ancient vantage point where people would look at virgin races, look for a mare that was following, and look for a significant parting between second and third.
You type of saw that in the second-place finish for Media in the Santa Anita Derby with Baeza. We’re nine and a half lengths clear of the third-place scorer thanks to news and Baeza, and that’s obviously going to be a huge factor as well in maiden races. Because it’s far fewer on turf, I believe that the big separation between contenders, especially if you see it, is very important.
Yes, there is typically a cavalry charge on carpet.
In my link, I made note of a truth about the famous animal Frankel. And Frankel was, in my opinion, one of the best in history. He was a turf animal, and he won eight of his 14 races by five length or more. That indicates how excellent that animal was.
How does horse racing fare better than sports betting, which is now its primary rival?
One of the things that caused me to leave the sport was that. For at least ten to fifteen years, I’ve been making harp on topics like the Racino design. I previously discussed how ridiculously uninteresting driving is. They are now talking about decoupling, of training.

Folks here in Florida are surprised by it. You won’t look at things from a business perspective, which is your sports betting and game betting, and then glance at horse race, where you need more land and capital in addition to having a higher costs, as you and I have both written about business. Then there are the litigation-related issues. So you’re not earning any money.  ,
Bags have increased year after year. The control has been dropped. I’m referring to actual money. Thus race is in serious trouble, and I’m not optimistic at this point. I’ve been involved in it for so long and have seen the previous actions, so I think racing will significantly improve and there will be much fewer tracks running.
Any opinions on your favorite Derby winners this year?  ,
I saw Baeza was 18-1. That is a ridiculous amount for him. You have to enjoy Baeza if you like media. I don’t know that, therefore. I’ll follow through on what I said. I’ll get searching for a layer.
However, Luxor Cafe is the animal I like best in this year’s Derby. He has a lot of positive things going for him, but one major harmful is shipping in from Japan. Simply put, we don’t know how quickly he is.  ,
Although Andrew Beyer mentioned it in his Racing Post evaluations, they were excellent. There were some older, less well-known horses that ran faster than he did in various races because he was watching the cards the day of his last training culture. Byer therefore claimed that Luxor Cafe wasn’t moving that quickly. And that’s a valid reasoning, but I don’t provide any specifics. However, everything else is appropriate for Luxor Cafe. Therefore, that will be my best option, along with a number of other value plays.

In my Kentucky Oaks single, I have Luxor Cafe. We’ll see how that turns out.  ,
Yes, I do, to. And there are many more. That’s the hard part of the Derby, just as we previously discussed. You could use so many ponies that you are. However, it’s without a doubt that Luxor Cafe would be my top pick if you were to question me who my best get is, if he were an American horses. Therefore, I must choose him as my major get. Once more, I’ll get looking. He’s hanging around 12 or 13 pounds, which is a great rate, in my opinion. So I believe there is also significance there.
Thank you. Great success.  ,
