Officials from both nations are expected to sign a number of bilateral treaties during the trip, according to a Kremlin speech.
Additionally, Russian President Putin has mandated a transitory three-day stalemate in Ukraine starting on May 8 through May 10 to coincide with the 9 May Victory Day celebrations. Volodymyr Zelensky, the leader of Ukraine, has refrained from using it and described it as political theater.
China has made numerous statements about its neutrality in the continuous conflict, which started with Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. However, some eastern governments contend that Beijing’s close relationships to Moscow, particularly in terms of trade and diplomacy, have at least directly contributed to Russia’s continued support of its war effort.
The two countries have repeatedly criticized what they call “western hegemony,” particularly US dominance in world affairs, and have established a” no limits” agreement just before Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
