Vladimir Putin, the president of Russia, stated in remarks made on Sunday that he hopes it won’t happen and that the need to employ nuclear weapons in Ukraine has no.
Putin stated in a demo of an impending interview with Russian state television that an approaching interview with the Russian government television would be “logically concluded” in a Telegram interview.
In response to a question about Ukrainian strikes on Russian soil, Putin said:” I hope those ( nuclear ) weapons won’t be needed.”
He claimed,” We have the resources and the power to take what was started in 2022 to a reasonable assumption with the result that Russia demands.”
In November 2024, Putin signed a revised version of Russia’s nuclear philosophy, which spells out the conditions that allow him to use the world’s largest nuclear arsenal, Moscow.
Even a normal attack supported by a nuclear power could have been avoided with that version, which raised the bar.
Russia and Ukraine disagree over competing compromise ideas.
In comments made public on Saturday, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the president of Ukraine, stated on Friday that Moscow’s news of a 72-hour ceasefire for Ukraine will be merely an attempt to” make a smooth atmosphere” ahead of Russia’s monthly events.
Zelenskyy rather reiterated demands for a longer-than-US-proposed 30-day pause in hostilities. He claimed that the proposed stalemate may begin at any time as a significant step in the direction of a world war.
As the US machines for a resolution to stop the 3-year-old conflict, Putin on Monday declared a unilateral 72-hour stalemate in Ukraine to mark World War II’s success. The Kremlin claimed the ceasefire, which was ordered on “humanitarian premises,” will commence on May 8 and continue until May 10 to commemorate Moscow’s victory over Nazi Germany in 1945, Russia’s largest secular holiday.
Ukraine’s State Emergency Service reported on Sunday that 11 people were hurt in a Russian aircraft attack on Kiev immediately. The injured included two kids.
Overnight, Russia fired a full of 165 exploding drones and drones, according to Ukraine’s air power. Among those, 69 were intercepted, and 80 were lost, most possible due to an electronic jam. Additionally, Russia launched two nuclear missiles.
Russian Defense Ministry reported that its air threats shot downward 13 Ukrainian drones over night.
