After firing Mike Waltz from the position last month, President Donald Trump suggested that Stephen Miller be his next top national security assistant.
Trump made it clear to reporters on Air Force One that Miller, a brave of his presidency who frequently made blazing appearances in front of the media to defend Trump’s imprisonment operations, is “at the top of the symbol pole” for the high-profile position.
” I believe that he has that job, sort of directly. Because he has a lot to say about various topics. He’s a pretty valued member of the presidency, Stephen,” the senator said.
Trump added that he will resign from his position as secretary of state Marco Rubio‘s temporary assistant within six weeks.
Due to the timetable, Rubio will likely be working in four different positions, most recently as national security adviser and acting superintendent of USAID.
Democrats attacked the administration on Sunday over the amount of work Rubio will now have, implying it’s unsustainable. Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-IL ) also represents the group.
