Trump DOE investigates Chicago-area district over ‘privilege walks,’ racist lessons

After the teacher’s original lawsuit was dismissed, the new DOE examines the situation.

A Chicago-area school district is facing “alleged bias” under its “equity plans, programs, and curriculum,” according to the U.S. Department of Education.

According to the information from an Evanston/Skokie School District 65 play professor, the DOE is precisely looking into possible breaches of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act.

In 2021, Stacy Deemar first brought a lawsuit against the district, claiming district equity laws taught, among other things, that” to be less light is to be less racially oppressive” and that” white identity is inherently bigoted.”

When the then-Superintendent said,” If you’re no antiracist, we didn’t have you in front of our kids,” then instructors shouldn’t even be licensed unless they’ve gone through anti-racist education.

The region claimed that anti-racism workshops are necessary to “promote studying and working environments that pleasant, value, and value diversity” and “establish a framework for the elimination of bias, especially racism and historical bias, as factors affecting student achievement and learning experiences.”

The so-called “privilege walks” are a part of the workshops, where individuals take a step forward if they are, or have been, the recipients of what is regarded as a “privilege.”

Like “privileges” can include “if you can officially marry the person you love” ( even in the post-gay relationship era, but who specifically isn’t “privileged”? ), and if you were raised in a two-parent household ( for which yours truly had to step forward during an early 2000s teacher inservice “privilege walk” ).

Less: The Oregon school city spends$ 100k annually on” white opportunity” education.

Deemar’s lawsuit was dismissed after a three-year “process” by a judge, who noted that she was not “personally content to racial staff affinity parties” and” not treated diversely” nor “denied any tangible benefits” as a result of her race’s involvement in the lawsuit. However, the teacher helped the Southeastern Legal Foundation refile her problem with Trump’s DOE.

The official DOE investigation’s statement makes reference to “privilege walks,” elementary-level lessons plans that teach students to “understand that our nation has a racist past and is grounded in white opportunity,” concepts like” white speak” and” color commentary,” and 3rd-5th quality lessons that “urge readers to undermine Western nuclear family dynamics.”

The policies and practices the District allegedly subjects students and teachers” shock the conscience,” said DOE Acting Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights, Craig Trainor.

The District appears to be focusing on unlawfully segregating students by race, instructing students to step forward and others to step back on the basis of race, and associating’whiteness’ with the devil, according to Trainor.
