China: On Sunday afternoon, about 20 people went missing in the Wu river in southwest Guizhou province, China’s western Guizhou province, after two boats carrying about 70 people capsized.
According to the standard Xinhua news agency, firefighters had gotten 50 people out of the ocean as of Sunday night. Later on Sunday night in Guizhou’s Qianxi region, firefighters were also looking for others.
The Wu, a tributary of the Yangtze, one of the two longest river in China, was suddenly hit by a storm of rain, hail, and powerful breezes.
A man was spotted performing CPR on a second man lying on the boat in one film that was shared by state media. One of the crashed boats had its base visible as the ship turned around.
An eyewitness claimed that despite the strong waters, some folks had managed to swim safely in the waters. The cyclone had abruptly arrived, and the river’s surface was covered by thick mist.
