As the Liberals win their third straight victory in the nation’s state of the country, US president Donald Trump wants to make Alberta the 51st state of the US, thousands of Albertans have been organizing rallies and filing petitions to support their separating from Canada. Alberta has a long-standing grievance that Ottawa treated them badly despite receiving a sizable economic advantage from its oil and gas resources. Although the call for a parting from Canada is not new, it has gained traction in the wake of the recent election results.
Marriage from a violent Ottawa
Cameron Davies, the president of Alberta, left the United Conservative Party of Alberta and assumed the leadership of the Republican Party of Alberta. As he took over, Davies declared,” Some fresh separatists in Alberta are celebrating now.” It’s time to “take power, have for freedom, and have strong for Conservative beliefs, and create an Alberta where our children is flourish,” he said.
