UW punishes protesters for making” a dangerous environment,” making an racist statement.
On Monday, pro-Palestinian protesters at the University of Washington erected control of a tower in protest of the university’s decision to end its ties to Boeing.
Before school police apprehended 30 of the protesters, masked activists scurried off the tower and laid fires in the street.
According to a suspended advocate student group’s announcement in an Instagram article encouraging people to join the opposition, kids occupied the Interdisciplinary Engineering Building, which is funded by Boeing.
Learners United for Palestinian Equality & Return wrote that the University of Washington is a strong participant in the murder of the Arab people as a result of its affiliation with Boeing.
“RALLY Then outside the IEB to take action with these individuals, along with the Palestinian people and their valiant weight.” Wear a mask and [identifiable ] features, the group wrote.
Additionally, it demanded that the university” cut relations with Boeing” and “repurpose the IEB… into a Tower the Helps Education for the People.”
The party stated in a separate statement posted on Medium Monday that” Boeing manufactures the F-15 fighter jets, Apache aircraft, Hellfire missiles, and 500 pound weapons that Israel uses to murder full Arab communities and obliterate Arab homes, schools, hospitals, and mosque”
In a statement following the incident, UW spokesman Victor Balta claimed that the protesters” created a dangerous environment in and around the building.”
As a result of a series of law enforcement gatherings, masked people obstructed two streets close to the building, blocked its entrances and exits, and set fires in two dumpsters, according to Balta.
Around 10:30 p.m., UW Police began to clear the area outside the building and entered the building at 11 p.m. to end the occupation.
The King County Prosecutor’s Office will be contacted by about 30 people who occupied the building, according to Balta, who were detained and charged with trespassing, property destruction, disorderly conduct, and conspiracy to commit all three.
Pro-Israel activist Eyal Yakoby recorded a video of protesters chanting” Death to the police” on X.

Balta also denounced” the antisemitic statement that was made by the suspended student group.”
The Seattle Times reported that UW had already suspended SUPER “until June 13 for the sit-in at a university building last year.”
The College Fix previously reported that the group organized two protests in February, where over 100 people gathered on campus to support the Palestinian movement.
In response to a warning letter from the Trump administration, the University of Washington recently reiterated its commitment to protecting the Jewish community.
