Andrew Giuliani, the brother of former New York mayor and Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani, may join President Donald Trump as the executive director of the President’s Task Force on the 2026 FIFA World Cup, according to a statement released on Tuesday.
The game, which will be co-hosted by Canada and Mexico next year, will be the first time the United States has hosted it since 1994 and the first moment it has been co-hosted by many nations since 2002. Due to the extreme summer heat, the 2022 World Cup was played through November and December, but it will transfer to its usual routine in 2026.
The president praised the younger Giuliani’s tenure as the associate director of the White House’s Office of Public Liaison in a speech on Truth Social, which was posted only moments before an event in the White House’s East Room with FIFA’s senior leadership team.

Trump also made it known that Giuliani will be joined by top FIFA advisor Carlos Cordeiro. When the joint-winning charge for 2026 was announced, Cordeiro was the chairman of the U.S. Soccer Federation.
The leader wrote,” I know Andrew and Carlos may work hard to make the 2026 FIFA World Cup an extraordinary success.”
Trump and the management team of FIFA convened a roundtable in the White House’s East Room following the announcement.

Trump reaffirmed to Giuliani at the event,” He’s going to be great. I’ve known him for a while. He loves what we’re doing, and he’s a very dynamic golf — I mean really great.
The leader continued,” Up, this group may help plan the biggest, safest, and most incredible football game in story,” adding that “it’s going to be.” They will be completely destroyed by this. We’re going to blow away my various pals from other countries, so I don’t want to attack them.
