Ileana Garcia, the governor of Florida, was a patient at a press conference on Tuesday, but she recovered rapidly thanks to the swift intervention of Florida Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo, who spotted her only as she began to faint on stage. According to the New York Post, Senator Garcia and Governor Ron DeSantis and other state authorities had a conversation about plans for a nationwide ban on liquid fluoridation in Miami. Garcia abruptly paused, swallowed, and said,” Governor, accept me, I’ve got to sit down, because I’m not feeling well,” before apologizing to the government. Moments later, she lost her balance and fell. However, Dr. Ladapo, who was seated close by, rapidly ran to her and caught her before she could hit the ground. Ladapo was heard saying,” Hey, hey, hey, hey, got you, got you, got you, got you,” as he leaned the senator into a chair with a smile on his face. Governor DeSantis and others tried to great her down, but Garcia remained seated as they brought her waters. She had already sat down and returned to the floor, to the audience’s warm round of applause within a few minutes. This was my minute, are you kidding me? I was not,” Garcia joked, making the audience laugh. ” Nerve wracking, but this was my time,” the saying goes. Governor DeSantis, I appreciate your kindness but much.” She finished her speech without incident. Miami-Dade Commissioner Roberto Gonzalez praised her resolve after her speech and declared,” Positively nothing will stop that person from fighting for the citizens of Florida.”
