Border enforcer Tom Homan did not hold back in his response to socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY ) after she openly mocked him during a recent town hall focused on immigration enforcement, according to Fox News. Homan, appearing on Fox News ‘” The Ingraham Angle”, dismissed Ocasio-Cortez’s zingers, suggesting she is more interested in social posturing than in upholding the law.
” I take pleasure]that ] I can live with her mind rent-free every day, but we all know exactly what she’s doing”, Homan said, noting that” the tables have now turned”.
Homam accused Ocasio-Cortez of teaching people how to evade law enforcement, but noted that the situation has changed:” She’s really guiding individuals on how to face trial because there is a final order in area”. Homan emphasized that ignoring for directions is unlawful, and warned that obstructing ICE protection is a murder.
At her Queens city hall, Ocasio-Cortez boasted about her company’s” Know Your Rights” conference, which advised workers on how to react if approached by ICE. The program included recommendations on demanding permits and documenting ICE steps, which Homan argued may cross the line into obstruction of justice.
Ocasio-Cortez fired again, framing her activities as an exercise of free speech and legal right. She challenged Homan’s threats to send her to the Department of Justice, telling her market,” Travel for me, do I look like I care”? Ocasio-Cortez insisted that she is in the correct and dared government to try to prosecute her work.
Homan, but, doubled down, promising to pursue criminal charges against anyone who interferes with ICE activities. He announced plans to ramp up police in sanctuary places, increasing ICE appearance and vowing to reduce what he called “public health threats” from the streets, regardless of local opposition.
Homan signaled a new, more aggressive approach to immigration enforcement in cities like New York.
” Game’s over. We’re going to look for these public safety threats, and we’re going to take them off those streets in New York and every other sanctuary city”, Homan said. ” As a matter of fact, every sanctuary in the city, we’re going to triple the workforce. We’re going flood the zone with officers. If we can’t arrest them in the jail, we’ll arrest them in the community. If we cannot arrest them in the community, we will arrest them on their work site”.
” We’re taking these public safety threats off the streets with your help or without your help”, he added.
