A pro-Palestinian march at Brooklyn College erupted in conflict Thursday, with protesters and officers engaging in physical scuffles, many people being held and one official firing a Taser to subdue a man in the group. The rowdy scene followed the arrests of 80 people Wednesday after pro-Palestinian demonstrators occupied a part of Columbia University‘s major collection, prompting school officials to visit in officers. The sharp goes reflect the tension that colleges in the US experience from Trump administration to suppress pro-Palestinian school unrest. A spokeswoman for Brooklyn College said protesters had violated university plan by putting up the houses. When the huts were never taken down after repeated warnings, surveillance soldiers and officers removed them and “dispersed the group,” said the official. In an email to pupils, a school official said the school was closed for the day, that anyone who left may not be able to gain on Thursday, and courses that night might need to be moved online or cancelled.
