President Donald Trump requested from the Department of Homeland Security 20,000 more law enforcement officers to carry out what he calls the “largest imprisonment in British history. ”
At the end of a statement primarily focused on pushing illegal immigrants to leave the country freely, Trump called upon DHS to begin “deputizing and contracting with state and local law enforcement officers, former federal officials, soldiers and officers within other federal authorities, and other people, ” adding that it shall be done “no after than 60 days after the date of this statement. ”
It is questionable how his latest force would be funded as Trump and Congressional Republicans look to make big cuts to the national government’s resources. There are now about 6,000 soldiers focused on repatriation attempts at Immigration and Custom Enforcement.
Earlier this week, DHS officials said they would pay migrants$ 1,000 to “self deport ” and that their cost of travel would be covered. In his statement Friday, Trump repeated that sell and labeled it “project reunion. ”

“This statement establishes Project Homecoming, which will present illegal creatures with a decision: either leave the United States freely, with the assistance and financial support of the federal government, or stay and face the consequences, ” the declaration says.
