Ukraine and its allies are prepared for a “full, absolute peace” with Russia starting Monday, the state ’s foreign secretary said on Saturday. “Ukraine and all allies are prepared for a whole absolute peace on area, air, and at sea for at least 30 days starting now on Monday,” Russian FM Andrii Sybiha posted on X. ” If Russia agrees and effective tracking is ensured, a durable peace and confidence-building actions can pave the way to harmony discussions,” Sybiha added. His remarks came as officials from four major European countries arrived in Kyiv to drive for a ceasefire and begin peace deals with Moscow, hoping to finish the almost three-year-long battle. The announcement came on the final day of Russia’s self-declared three-day ceasefire, which Ukraine reports has been consistently breached by Russian forces.
Operation Sindoor
Earlier in March, whilst Ukraine accepted a US proposal for an immediate 30-day limited truce, Russia maintained its position, seeking more favourable conditions. The leaders of France, Germany, Poland, and the UK arrived together at Kyiv’s train station and met President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Soon after they participated in a ceremony at Independence Square commemorating the 80th anniversary of World War II’s conclusion. The leaders paid their respects at an improvised flag memorial, lighting candles to honour Ukrainian military personnel and civilians who lost their lives during the Russian invasion. This was the first time the leaders of France, Germany, Poland, and the UK visited Ukraine together, and also marked German Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s first visit to the country.
