A year after the key, the Ohio Republican Party overwhelmingly voted to support Vivek Ramaswamy for governor on Friday.  ,
The first step was to cast a ballot to support a main member. All but 13 Republicans voted to deal with an endorsement even though the deadline for filing for the 2026 May key was February 2026. After that was decided, a choice of candidate was cast for the ballot. By a ballot of 60-3, Ramswamy largely won.  ,

Let it be heard that we support Vivek Ramaswamy for government and that Ohio Republican Party Chairman Alex Triantafilou made the announcement.
Ramaswamy applauded the action, claiming there was “unprecedented unification” within the express GOP.  ,
He wrote on X,” Glad to have the Ohio Republican Party’s support by a historic 60-3 margin.” We’re devoted to expanding our Democratic base and, hopefully, winning in” 26″ with a decisive defeat.
In the race to change the term-limited governor, two different Democratic candidates are running. Heather Hill, a native of Morgan County and Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost, are Mike DeWine. The support essentially put the finishing touches on those two, especially given that Trump and numerous state GOP leaders, none of whom want to cross the president’s path, have already done so.  ,
Yost, who has been a top attorney general and would make a great governor, said he is considering whether to run for president with his supporters and advisors, apparently thinking about whether to do so.  ,
The Attorney General will have a few days to meet with key supporters to discuss the course of action, but Ohio’s citizens deserve a decision, not a early crown of an unknown candidate, said Emily Hottinger, his battle manager.  ,

Triantafilou responded to criticism that the professional treatment voting was conducted behind closed doors by saying,” We think people debate would benefit the Democrats, and we’re here to appoint Republican.”
Donald Trump Jr. had urged the ORP to support Ramaswamy. In a prolonged X post, he wrote,” I understand that early testimonials aren’t the rule, but these are not typical times. We have time to save money, and we don’t spend any of it. In one of his first 2026 testimonials, President Trump endorsed Vivek for a purpose:” Ohio needs Vivek as its governor, and we need him in Ohio.”
Former Ohio State instructor and present Ohio Lieutenant Governor are likely to be included in the first support. Jim Tressel, who had been putting forth a general charge, was also out of the running.  ,
I’ll say this for the report: I don’t like ceremonies. Appearance where Joe Biden came from that. also Kamala Harris Although primaries may be contentious, the debates and competitive elections have a way of challenging candidates and getting them ready for the more contentious general elections, which are even more contentious.  ,
The ORP has a bad habit of putting its vote on the ballot for the most popular individuals. By backing creation hacks and putting money into their campaigns, they effectively used their power to defeat liberal candidates during the Tea Party movement. I didn’t enjoy it next, and I still don’t like it today. This is great for him, but it will basically stifle the different campaigns because he will now have access to ORP resources like a nationwide candidate’s account that the group manages, the group’s voting database, campaign services, field staff support, and other benefits.  ,

Ramaswamy is the only declared Democrat candidate on the ballot, but I’m also concerned about how he’ll fare against Amy Acton, who is the only declared Democrat. She assisted in enforcing the governor’s harsh COVID-19 lockdown policies as DeWine’s director of public wellbeing. In an update to the TV selection show every day, she and DeWine tried to justify the lockdowns and make people think they were wearing masks and getting the vaccine. That’s her biggest flaw.  ,
Sadly, Ramaswamy might not be able to counteract Acton in the best way. He and Acton were also members of the then-Lt. Governor’s COVID task force, which DeWine had in truth founded. Jon Husted ( DeWine’s henchman ), who, for some reason, received an ORP endorsement for his Senate re-election bid last week. Yost has been beating him on about the common antibody tests that Ramaswamy advocates as a way to return to normal life.  ,
Yost deserves a chance to make his case to Ohio voters by being a strong liberal and outstanding campaigner who spent the past two years suing the Biden administration for COVID-19 mandates. And Ohio citizens do need to make a decision. However, it doesn’t appear that will occur. But at least there is a sense of unity.  ,
