India expresses concern over ban on Awami League, Dhaka responds

India called for free and fair elections in Bangladesh while calling for the ban on overthrew prime minister Sheikh Hasina‘s celebration, Awami League. As a republic, India is normally concerned about the shrinking social space and the restriction of democratic rights, according to the ministry of foreign affairs in a statement. We firmly support Bangladesh’s election results being free, good, and inclusive, according to MEA spokesman Randhir Jaiswal. India’s statement came right away in response, saying elections are entirely Bangladesh’s domestic affairs, and urging everyone to respect the” royal will of our citizens in matters relating to votes.” During its 15-year dictatorial and kleptocratic rule, Awami League seriously weakened our democracy, seriously squandered our social space, and impeded our sovereignty. The scars left by this party’s acts are still being treated,” said Shafiqul Alam, the press secretary to deputy director Muhammad Yunus. I’ve already said that a party’s activities must be prohibited in order to protect the safety of July Movement activists, protect foreign criminal justice tribunal witnesses, and protect national protection and sovereignty. Alam advised that when it comes to elections, one may recall how Hasina’s party used wildly absurd polls and seriously damaged the democratic processes and institutions.
