More than 220 deported migrants were waiting at an aircraft outside the capital, Caracas, for Maikelys Espinoza. Cilia Reyes, the country’s first woman, was captured carrying Maikelys at the airport in film aired by express television. Eventually, it was revealed that Flores had earlier presented the girl to her family, who had been anticipating her appearance along with President Nicolas Maduro, at the presidential palace. The Trump administration has claimed that the Venezuelans sent to Guantanamo and El Salvador belong to the Tren de Aragua, but it has provided much evidence to support this claim. Mahalo and Richard Grenell, Trump’s envoy for specific missions, thanked them on Wednesday for allowing Maikelys to return with her family in a “profoundly humane” act. Grenell and Maduro had a meeting in Caracas soon after Trump took office.
