An Indian-origin undergraduate from Massachusetts College died just days before his scheduled graduation from a fall from a rooftop during a pre-graduation trip to the Bahamas. According to the Royal Bahamas Police Force, Gaurav Jaisingh, a freshman at Bentley University in Waltham, died on Sunday night after falling from an upper-level ledge at a resort on Paradise Island. Authorities responded to the incident about 10 p.m. ( local time ) after hearing reports that a man had reportedly plunged from the balcony while sharing a room with his roommates, according to the New York Post. He died from his wounds while he was being transported to the hospital after being found unresponsive on a lower floors. When the tragedy struck, Jaisingh, a freshman in banking and Delta Sigma Pi, was traveling to the university for one year as a senior. According to his LinkedIn profile, he also participated in Bentley’s South Asian Kids Association. In a statement, the school described the incident as an” énorme horror” for the area. According to a statement issued by the university,” We share our deepest sympathies with Gaurav’s relatives, friends, and loved people.” It appears Gaurav fell from a rooftop unintentionally while the local authorities are looking into it. We may disclose more details as soon as possible while keeping the privacy of his family in mind,” the statement continued. The resumption of Bentley University is scheduled for Friday. The announcement caused the hearts of the elementary individuals to express their pain. Older Sydney Bazin was quoted as saying by WHDH,” He was gearing up for undergraduate this weekend, so I hope we take some time to honor him at the trip.” The Royal Bahamas Police Investigations Unit is continuing its investigation into the incident, according to another student, Isabella Abeiga, who described the media as a surprise and said,” It was the last thing I was expecting, especially just a few weeks away from completion.” The school has urged its counseling center to assist individuals who have been affected by the tragedy. Jaisingh was born in Massachusetts ‘ Shrewsbury. What was meant to be Bentley’s School of 2024’s joyous last week has been skewed by his demise.
