A contract update was posted on DOGE’s X bill on May 12th, saying that “organizations have since terminated 242 wasteful contracts with a maximum price of$ 646M and savings of$ 200M, including a$ 118k USDA commitment for the” Democratic Republic of Congo youth culture army coordinator,” as well as a$ 23.50k USAID deal for the “garden vegetation and share services at official objective director’s residence” of South Africa. Federal credit cards have also been the subject of DOGE’s investigation. The program to audit unused/unneeded credit cards has been expanded to 32 agencies, according to DOGE earlier this month. More than 500K cards have been de-activated after 10 weeks. As a reminder, at the beginning of the audit, there were 4. 6M active cards/accounts, so there is still more work to be done. No wonder we have a debt of more than$ 36.8 trillion.
