Following Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s ( ICE ) efforts to dismantle the Tren de Aragua gang, new data reveals a dramatic drop in homicides across Denver and Aurora, Colorado. Illegal immigrants are among the members of the harsh Cuban criminal organization that are responsible for the region’s escalating chaos.

In Denver, homicides decreased by 58 percent in the first quarter of 2025 from the same time last year, according to statistics from the Major Cities Chiefs Association, which KUSA-TV Denver reported. In Aurora, homicides decreased by 36 % over the same time period.

Todd Chamberlin, the police chief in Aurora, observed an even greater decrease in violence overall. ” The City of Aurora and Aurora PD are currently in a really good position. Overall, our crime rates are down 22.8 %, according to Chamberlin.

The Trump administration’s increased immigration enforcement, which had made the Denver urban place a crucial target for the removal of legal immigrants, has led to this marked increases in crime. 538 illegal aliens have been detained by ICE in many cities, including Denver, in a quick turn of events. The organization quickly expanded its scope of work in Colorado, focusing on Tren de Aragua users.

Despite these national efforts, local Democratic officials reportedly opposed cooperating with ICE despite these reports, according to Breitbart News. The Trump presidency filed a lawsuit against Denver and state representatives for obstructing national immigration enforcement after Denver Mayor Mike Johnston and Colorado Governor Jared Polis worked together to oppose the president’s actions.

A 24-year-old Aurora girl lost her life in July 2024 as a result of a careless 15-year-old illegal-migrant vehicle. The neighborhood attorney offered community service and probation in spite of the incident’s intensity, according to some critics. The young driver is reportedly seeking charitable treatment.
