This trip, Vice President JD Vance will be in Rome for the opening Mass of Pope Leo XIV.

Vance, who met with Francis’s replacement on Easter Sunday just before his passing, may make a second visit to the Vatican to greet him.

Vance, a Catholic turn, may serve as the leader of the United States ‘ delegation to Vatican City for Leo’s annual Mass on May 18. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and his family Jeanette Rubio are also expected to attend, along with Next Lady Usha Vance and other guests.

Because he is the first pope to grace the United States in history, Leo’s annual Mass has special significance in the country. In addition, Vance is the first Catholic change to serve as vice president, according to his business.

Vance has, however, had disagreements with Catholic leaders, especially regarding immigration. He had recently suggested that the Catholic Church was “worried about its base line” after it criticized President Donald Trump’s multiculturalism policy.

Leo has a background of sharing information that is essential of Trump and Vance on social media, even though he’s really beginning his church. Before being elected pope, Leo shared a story from the National Catholic Reporter that read, “JD Vance is bad: Jesus doesn’t beg us to level our love for some.” Vance was criticized in the content for his immigration policy.

Vance has made a comment on the idea of the “order of love,” or “ordo amoris,” in which case people are called to enjoy their families first, then their neighbors, community, country, and lastly, the rest of the world. He claimed that the “far left” has completely changed that notion.

Another Catholic blogger, Leo Leo, criticized Trump’s conference with Peruvian President Nayib Bukele, who has supported the Trump administration’s efforts to arrest illegal immigrants, in a post from April. Do you not observe the suffering, the article said. Your consciousness is certainly disturbed, right? How do you maintain silence?”

Trump, who described Leo as a” amazing choice” for the position, stated that he would like to talk about immigration with the bishop. Trump claimed on Truth Social that meeting with Leo would be a “very important moment” following his choice.
