Election officials in Texas can now nominate candidates for the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board’s ( THC ) 2025-26 Texas Armed Services Scholarship ( TASSP) program.
Through the Texas Armed Services Scholarship Program, Governor Texas says,” Texas , is proud to maintain the next generation of martial rulers.” Greg Abbott, he said in a media release. This award not merely advances the intellectual and leadership development of our students; it also aids in our ongoing efforts to defend our state and our nation. I urge Texas’s politicians to designate excellent young Texans who are prepared to provide the nation’s greatest position in the history of the world.
The scholarship is available to students who take part in the Reserve Officers ‘ Training Corps ( ROTC ) or other undergraduate officer commissioning programs at institutions of higher education in Austin, Texas, for a maximum award of$ 15, 000. These graduates will then serve in the , Texas Army National Guard, the , Texas Air National Guard, or commissioned soldiers in any branch of the US , military service.
Commissioner of Higher Education , Wynn Rosser , stated in the discharge that” Texans have a proud history of military service.” The Texas Armed Services Scholarship honours that calling and supports our individuals who seek higher learning by serving in the military.
Students must be nominated by a , Texas  , senator or representative to be eligible for a particular scholarship requirement and meet certain award needs. The governor and lieutenant governor perhaps appoint two students at the same time, but each senator may select one. Students may find their elected officials online, but any lawmaker may nominate them.
Nominees for the 2025-26 academic year may be submitted by , Sept. 30, 2025.
