Author Batya Ungar-Sargon made a point during a board conversation on CNN that the internet and Democrats continue to seem unwilling to face: Donald Trump continues to dictate the terms of the political debate, and Democrats are unable to help but take the bait.

Ungar-Sargon’s thoughts were succinct. She said,” This was the concern that won Donald Trump the poll,” making reference to the border crisis and widespread illegal immigration. The American citizens are “very disturbed about this,” the president said.
She’s correct. Despite the public’s best attempts to minimize the problem, immigration continues to be one of Trump’s strongest items with voters. Ungar-Sargon noted that” Donald Trump is also up by 14 items on immigration.” So he is winning this, right? You are correct that Stephen Miller said they are looking into suspending habeas corpus, but as you very effectively and blatantly pointed out, Abby, they have not yet defied a judge order because they are not going to do that.
Ungar-Sargon therefore cut through the noise to explain a critical legal distinction that is frequently overlooked in media coverage:” I believe that the person who is detained in judicial court has the same legal rights as the person who is a citizen.” She explained that the immigration judge is an operational hearing.
She continued,” It’s not about how close you are to the boundary when it comes to extended treatment.” It’s about whether you’re past the two-year mark, and you don’t even need to go to court for the reading. In 2020, the Supreme Court will rule in that regard.

Illegal immigrants enjoy the exact legal rights as citizens who are tried in court. The kick is that. Trump floats things extreme, something purposefully provocative, and the remaining reacts accordingly. They appear with devices, hugging illegal immigrants, and fit Trump’s tale perfectly. They end up defending the insurmountable rather than defending America’s autonomy.
