James Comey, the former FBI producer, was attacked by President Donald Trump for a contentious social media post, claiming that Comey was calling for his death.

Trump refuted Comey’s apologies and claimed that he didn’t know what shells organized read “8647” meant in a Friday meeting with Fox News. He argued that Comey had made an unfiltered plea for his death.

He was completely aware of what that meant. A young person is aware of what that meant. Trump said that if you’re the FBI producer and you don’t understand what that means, that would mean death and it clearly stated that.

He wasn’t really capable, but he was proficient enough to understand what that meant. And he did it for a purpose, and he was severely hurt because people like me and are interested in what is going on in our nation. He added that his calling for the death of the president is that our nation has gained new respect and all of this.

Interviewer Brett Baier reacted, saying Comey apologized and that it wasn’t a visit to crime. Trump refrained from offering an explanation and argument, saying that Attorney General Pam Bondi had the final say.

Trump said,” I don’t want to get a place on it, because that’s going to be up to Pam and all of the great folks, but I will say this, I think it’s a sad thing,” adding that. And when you add his history, if he had a sound story, he doesn’t. He’s a dishonest policeman. He’s a dishonest policeman. And if he had a respectable background, I could see why there was mercy. But I’m going to letting them make that choice.

On Thursday, Comey posted and deleted a photo of shells arranged on a beach that depicted the numbers “8647,” an ambiguous text that supporters interpreted as a call for Trump’s ouster and as a call for him to be assassinated. Comey later claimed that he was not trying to start crime by the article.

COMEY’S “8647” MESSAGE CONCERNS White House, PROMPTS, DHS Research

The Department of Homeland Security is looking into the reported risk, and the Secret Service stated that it is aware of the content and will “vigorously check anything that can be taken as a potential menace against our protectees.”

The FBI stated that it would provide “necessary help.”
