A group of light Afrikaners who arrived in the United States as immigrants have been condemned by Soth African President Cyril Ramaphosa as” fools” because they fled the nation. Ramaphosa stated on Monday that those who were departing were putting their weight on efforts to recover South Africa and avoid facing its challenges. Ramaphosa said those who left were abandoning their country more than assisting it in progress at an agricultural function in the Free State. We are adaptable as South Africans. We don’t leave our issues behind. We may remain here and work through our issues,” he said. The Afrikaners, a white racial minority descended from Dutch, German, and French settlers, have been at the center of a growing conflict between Washington and Pretoria, with Ramaphosa claiming that it was a “real foolish act.” In response to unproven allegations of property seizures and assault against white farmers, the Trump administration claims the organization is subject to racial prejudice in South Africa. Migrants fleeing war and famine across the world who have been denied access to the US as a result of Trump’s policies have been harshly criticized by rights groups for the move, branding it a distortion of reality and an insult to millions of refugees who have been denied access to the US. President Trump reiterated his say that a “genocide” was occurring in South Africa as the first batch of African immigrants landed at Dulles International Airport in Virginia on Monday. He continued,” It’s a genocide that’s taking place,” adding that there is no proof for this claim but that he would discuss the matter with Ramaphosa directly during their scheduled meeting at the White House on May 21. Ramaphosa claimed earlier in Abidjan that he had already spoken with Trump about what he thought were false accounts. He said,” I told him that what those people who oppose change are telling you is no true.” He further stated to reporters that Afrikaners “do not fit the definition of a refugee.” The South African government has repeatedly denied that white people, including Afrikaners, are content to state-backed oppression. According to officials, the Trump presidency is using racial tensions to defend what Pretoria perceives as an unwarranted attack on its transformation and sovereignty agenda. More than 8, 000 white South Africans are thought to have expressed interest in the evacuation plan in the US.
