A real television program starring immigrants would be in the US department of country security’s thoughts as they vie for American citizenship. However, according to DHS, the ball “has never received approval or rejection by staff.” Every year, the Department of Homeland Security receives lots of broadcast show pitches, ranging from white neck studies by HSI to documentaries about the ICE and CBP border operations. Before being denied or approved, DHS assistant director for public matters Tricia McLaughlin told the Hollywood Reporter, “every request goes through a rigorous vetting process. The show, which was pitched by Canadian-American Rob Worsoff, would have candidates who would compete to see who best embodies the aspirations of being most British, according to The Wall Street Journal. Worsoff said,” This isn’t” The Hunger Games’ for immigrants,” according to WSJ. He said,” Hey, if you lose, we are shipping you out on a boat out of the country,” not” Hey, if you lose,” The proposed tasks may include assembling a Model T chassis in a manner similar to gold rush competitions to collect valuable metal from a mine. The show had presumably begin with contestants arriving at Ellis Island, a symbol for generations of immigrants, and adopt a well-known reality format with one participant being eliminated for every episode, according to WSJ. The announcement comes in light of US President Donald Trump’s wider immigration crackdown, whose administration initiated a nationwide ban on Temporary Protected Status ( TPS) for various immigrant groups. TPS provides protections to foreign citizens in accordance with national law who are unable to safely return to their home countries as a result of war, natural disasters, or other unusual circumstances. Since taking office, Trump has pushed to withdraw those rights for citizens of nations like Venezuela, Haiti, and Afghanistan. The department of homeland security has spearheaded the energy, which has resulted in numerous immigration attacks, detention, and deportations.
