As part of President Donald Trump’s restrictions on transgender service members, the Pentagon issued a memo on Thursday instructing U.S. military commanders to “immediately” display military members for female distress.

The memorandum added that” commandanders who are aware of Service members in their units who have a history of gender dysphoria, or symptoms consistent with gender dysphoria will direct individualized medical record reviews of such Service members to check whether they are in compliance with medical standards under the [ Individual Medical Readiness ] program.
A senior security national told reporters on Thursday that almost 4,200 military personnel were originally thought to include gender dysphoria, according to the Department of Defense.
