Israel and the UN announced on Monday that the first few help trucks had entered Gaza after nearly three months of Israel’s total blockade of food, healthcare, and other products, as a result of Israel’s acknowledgment of friends ‘ stress. According to the COGAT, the Israeli defense agency in charge of coordinating aid to Gaza, five trucks carrying baby food and other desperately needed supplies entered the territory of over 2 million Palestinians via the Kerem Shalom crossing. Although the UN referred to it as a “welcome development,” much more aid is required, according to the UN. Last week, food security experts issued a warning about a famine in Gaza. Around 600 aid trucks landed in Gaza each day during the most recent ceasefire that Israel ended in March. Israel’s Prime Minister said his decision to resume “basic” limited aid to Gaza came after allies said they couldn’t back Israel’s renewed military offensive if there are “images of hunger” coming from the area. Tom Fletcher, the UN’s director of humanitarian assistance, described the first few trucks as “drop in the ocean of what is urgently needed.” He claimed that four more UN trucks have been granted permission to enter Gaza. Israel launched a new wave of air and ground operations over Gaza over the weekend, and the army mandated the eviction of Khan Younis, its second-largest city, where Israel had previously conducted a massive operation. Netanyahu stated on Monday that Israel intends to “take control of all of Gaza” and establish a new aid distribution system to deceive Hamas. He claimed that Israel would encourage the disproportionate immigration of Gaza’s population to other nations. He claimed that Israel’s “greatest friends in the world” had said,” We cannot accept images of mass hunger.” Netanyahu claimed that the situation was approaching a “red line” and a “dangerous point,” but it was unclear whether he was talking about the conflict in Gaza or the potential loss of allies ‘ support. His nationalist base seemed to be at ease with the statement’s attempt to quell the government’s decision to resume aid.
