The far-right Alternative for Germany ( AfD ) was declared a” confirmed right-wing-extremist” party by the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution ( BfV ), Germany’s domestic intelligence agency, at the beginning of May. The AfD is currently contesting this ruling in judge. The BfV has stated that it won’t apply the term “extremism” until a ruling is reached in the case. Germany’s debate over whether the AfD may get banned has rekindled since the classification as right-wing-extremist. No other European nation is considering a ban on the rising far right. Netherlands: PVV ( PVV ) Party.
