LA VEGAS: Police said Monday that the person who was killed last week at a Las Vegas health centre was a long-time worker who had no known connection to the shooter. According to authorities, Edgar Quinonez, 31, of Las Vegas, was shot and killed Friday at the Las Vegas Athletic Club. According to police, armed soldiers shot at the suspected shooter, 34-year-old Daniel Ortega, as he left the gym after firing 24 sessions, according to the arrest warrant. According to authorities, Ortega, a treadmill employee, passed away from gunshot wounds. As a result of the explosion at the gym on the city’s east part, three more people were hurt. One of them was in critical situation when they were taken to nearby hospitals. On Monday, their circumstances were not made public. Officials claim they have not found any connection between the two men, but are still looking into a goal. At a press briefing on Monday, Jamie Prosser, associate deputy of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, claimed Ortega had walked into the gym with a shotgun on Friday evening. She claimed that he ran into a front desk worker and then exchanged a few words with another staff before speaking briefly to her. She claimed that as the individual fled into the treadmill, he lifted the rifle and shot him. Ortega returned to the hall and fired until the crossbow malfunctioned, according to Prosser, and Ortega continued to do so. Ortega was shot by officers as he left the building with the weapons when an arriving officer opened the door and fired at him. According to the officers, he passed away in a local clinic. Ortega claimed to work out at the gym, but there is no evidence of any involvement with the target at this time.
