The buyer right government reported on Monday that Spain has mandated that Airbnb block more than 65, 000 holiday ads on its system because they violated regulations. The government claimed that many of the 65, 935 Airbnb entries it had ordered to be canceled did not list their license number or state whether the landlord was an individual or a business. Some provided figures that didn’t complement what the government were. Spain is dealing with a housing affordability crisis that has prompted authorities sanctions against short-term rental firms. Tens of thousands of Europeans have taken to the streets in recent months to protest rising accommodation costs, many of whom claim that they are being pushed up by the rise in Airbnb-based vacation rentals in cities like Madrid and Barcelona and many other well-known holiday destinations. Consumer Minister Pablo Bustinduy told reporters on Monday,” Enough now with protecting those who make a business out of the right to housing. Barcelona made a plan last year to close all of the 10, 000 temporary accommodations that are permitted in the area by 2028 in order to protect the casing supply for full-time people. The government claimed to have informed Airbnb of the non-compliance with the listings months prior, but that the business had filed an appeal with the court. The high court in Madrid, according to Spain’s state, had supported the request made on Monday. According to Bustinduy, it required the removal of 5,800 hire ads right away from the website. He predicted that orders may be issued until the almost 66, 000 removal were completed. Airbnb had not immediately be reached for comment. The first round of rent affected by the Spanish authorities were located throughout the nation, including in Madrid and the Andalusian and Catalan regions, whose capital is Barcelona.
