After a two-hour telephone contact with Russian President Vladimir Putin, President Donald Trump said he was confident that Russia and Ukraine would resume negotiations for a ceasefire and the end of their conflict.
Trump wrote on social press on Monday that” Russia and Ukraine will soon begin discussions for a Peace and, more importantly, an END to the War.” The two parties can simply agree on that because they are conscious of information of a deal that nobody else would know about, so the terms for that will become negotiated.
Trump praised the conversation’s tone and spirit as “excellent,” adding that Russia wants to engage in “large-scale business” with the US once the” severe “bloodbath” is over.
He wrote,” Russia has a great opportunity to create enormous amounts of work and wealth.” In the course of rebuilding its nation, Ukraine can also be a significant benefactor of business.
As Trump spoke with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Western Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, French President Emmanuel Macron, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, and Scandinavian President Alexander Stubb, Putin gave the first reading of the mobile phone.
Putin told Russian media that it was “very useful and very coy, and entire, in my opinion, very useful in this regard,” before downplaying the possibility of a stalemate without additional agreements being reached first.
Trump reportedly contacted Zelensky before his phone contact with Putin to ask for approach guidance from his Russian counterpart. A 30-day peace, a meeting with Putin with Trump’s participation, and a U.S.-Ukraine position agreement were some of Zelensky’s requests.
Trump took on more of the burden of negotiating a peace agreement last year, months after promising to end the conflict on his first day in business during the promotion of last year.
Trump said to writers on Air Force One next week,” Nothing’s gonna happen until Putin and I get up.” He said,” He wasn’t going if I wasn’t there.” And I don’t think anything will ever arise until he and I get up, regardless of whether you like it or not. However, because too many individuals are dying, we will need to get it resolved.
Last year, Putin and Zelensky met as part of a proposal to the United Kingdom and the European Union‘s call for a 30-day peace in order to avoid further restrictions.
Instead, Putin spent the weekend sending perhaps a record-setting number of drones into Ukraine and sent low-level associates to Turkey next Thursday.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt declined to comment on whether Trump thought of Putin as” the nice guy or the poor person” during a briefing earlier on Monday.
She said,” The senator has made it abundantly clear that his intention is to see this fight close.”
TRUMP AND PUTIN TO DISCUSS THE MONTHLY BLOODBATH OF RUSSIA-UKRAINE OVER THE PHONE ON Mondays
Lake declined to respond to questions about Trump’s intentions for the telephone call, including whether he would try to push for a two-week deadline for Russia and Ukraine to attain a peace agreement and whether he is considering using extra measures. She even attenuated hopes that the two would quickly meet in person.
Let’s see how this call turns out, she said,” I think the president would certainly be open to that.” ” I believe everything is on the table,” she said. Yes. I didn’t get ahead of the senator, and he’s made any commitments or choices, but it’s something he’s been considering and discussing.
