Alumni group calls on UVA to fire President Jim Ryan: ‘Politicized and feckless leadership’

Richmond Times-Dispatch publishes full-page advertisement, launches website promotion, and launches full-page advertisement.

A group of enraged University of Virginia alumni are calling for the resignation of President Jim Ryan, alleging that his six-year career has been marred by controversy and that his leadership has led to a decline in educational and reputation at the venerable organization.

The Jefferson Council recently ran an online promotion called Reset UVA to lobby for alter and ran a full-page advertisement in the Richmond Times-Dispatch.

The government claims that there have been” seven major command failures under President Jim Ryan” in the ad. They claim he “facilitated the worst pandemic of hatred in UVA history.”
among other things, “allowed UVA’s historically honorable reputation to decline” and “established a social agenda under the pretext of DEI.”

The title of the Jefferson Council’s Reset UVA site reads,” Jim Ryan’s political and foolish management combined with his incarceration of double standards has led to an extraordinary collection of tragedies, scandals, and government investigations that have greatly damaged UVA’s core values and reputation.”

The Jefferson Council’s president, Joel Gardner, stated in a phone interview that team members believe “in a depoliticized school, where the regulating body and the leader are balanced on political and social agendas.”

” We firmly believe in the rules of speech and freedom of expression. He claimed that UVA and Jim Ryan have pushed a social plan under the guise of DEI and had departed from these rules.

The College Fix has repeatedly contacted the University of Virginia’s internet connections staff to request reply.

The school’s governing board unanimously voted in March to break the La office and any other race-based system practices. The Department of Justice demanded that UVA follow the order earlier this month in a letter to the organization.

a government spokeswoman for Gov. The committee of readers will keep UVA’s leadership accountable for ending DEI at the University, as the committee has currently voted to do, according to Glenn Younkin.

The University of Virginia is also the subject of criticism from the Jefferson Council for rebranding its identity-based graduating ceremonies as a result of the battle against Ryan.

In an effort to adhere to federal anti-discrimination laws, the university changed its” Lavender Graduation,” an LGBTQ+ graduation ceremony, and” Multicultural Graduation,” to” Recognition Ceremonies.”

However, a text from the Department of Education’s Dear Colleagues pointed out that for events violate Title VI of the Civil Rights Act if they discriminate against individuals based on race.

In response to the national guidelines, some colleges across the country, including Harvard, have suspended their affinity-based ceremonies.

To highlight what it claims are DEI infractions at the university, the council created a website called” DE I at UVA.”

” It’s just a change of name,” the author says. The university has rebranded, but they still operate under DEI, according to Gardner, who noted that this is yet another illustration of the” social and political fairness agenda that has permeated every last drop of the university.”

The renamed graduate events are obviously identity-based, and they are directly in conflict with the equality of treatment for students on campus along racial and sexual orientation lines, according to the council’s website.

The” Donning of the Kente Ceremony,” which is supported by UVA’s Office of African-American Affairs, is yet another example of a de facto isolated graduation ceremony, thinly disguised as a social event, according to the government.
