The announcement that Biden has an extreme form of cancer that has already spread to his legs came as another book, Original Sin: President Biden’s Decline, Its Cover-Up, and His Fatal Choice to Work Afterwards, by Jake Tapper of CNN and Alex Thompson of Axios, was released.
Major Democratic strategist David Axelrod said” meetings” about Biden’s mental and physical acuity as leader” should be more subdued and set aside for today as he’s struggling through this.
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY ) made a more pointed response by asking whether Biden’s cancer diagnosis raised new questions about his ability to serve or about the former president’s level of medical care.
According to Jeffries,” It seems entirely unsuitable that Republicans are peddling conspiracy theories and want us to look back at a time when they really are taking health care away from the National people,” at this time. President Biden is currently dealing with a severe and intense form of cancer.  ,
This not play political games with a tumor diagnosis, fine. asked if Biden’s most recent health scare was related to what was reported in books like Original Sin, a Democratic strategist and former vice president Kamala Harris‘s assistant.
When Vice President JD Vance , JD Vance , questioned whether this was another instance of the former president’s health receiving inadequate scrutiny,  , Politico’s Jonathan Martin , described it as” a real-time depiction of someone struggling between the responsibilities of being completely online and the temptations that come with being completely online.”
President Donald Trump has likewise expressed skepticism about the timeframe while calling Biden’s treatment “very unfortunate.”  ,
As his name wore on, citizens began to question Biden’s ability to continue as president as his campaign wore on, with Democrats swaying him away after he struggled in a political discussion with Trump on June 27, 2024. It is possible that Biden’s penile cancer is completely unrelated to the issues that led to his death.
Questions about this unexpected diagnosis of an innovative cancer that obviously went undetected while in office seem legitimate given what we currently know about the extent of Biden’s age-related decline and his team’s efforts to suppress it from the public.
Many Democrats were caught flatfooted by his debate performance because of the media’s coverage of the story so badly, and the dismissal of all Biden age-related questions as partisan talking points or conservative disinformation was a big part of why the media got the story so wrong.  ,
If the rank-and-file voters in their party had told pollsters they wanted another option in 2024, they would not have been sent scrambling in the weeks that followed that debate. Journalists wouldn’t have been writing mea culpas about their Biden age and health coverage months after he took office if they had not been so eager to accept the” cheap fakes” explanation for the video footage of seemingly poor Biden outings.
The new Biden books are not being written by conservatives or partisan Republicans. One source before Tapper and Thompson was Tyler Pager of the New York Times, Josh Dawsey of the Wall Street Journal, and Isaac Arnsdorf of the Washington Post. It’s a significant component of another book that NBC News ‘ Jonathan Allen and Amie Parnes of The Hill wrote.
Even some of these books support Democratic political objectives. If not the Democrats, for whom did Biden’s campaign for reelection prove to be “disastrous”?
Biden should be handled with compassion and care in light of the most recent, devastating health news. People should fervently hope that he recovers fully.
However, the answer cannot be to ignore new questions or change the subject if the purpose of all new reporting on Biden is to learn from past mistakes.  ,
Vance prefaced his remarks to reporters by saying,” Whether the right time to have this conversation is now or at some point in the future,” or “whether it is now or at some point in the future.
WHO FELT ABETTER BY THE BIDEN DECLINE COVER-UP? NOT THE VOTERS  ,
He said,” We really need to be open to the question whether the former president was capable of carrying out the job.”
Hopefully, that discussion will occur before new books lamenting outdated Biden coverage decisions are published years from now.
