A 52-year-old US girl initially denied involvement in a situation involving a 1997 child death, but within an hour she abruptly admitted to the terrible violence during a police exam. Authorities in Albany’s Washington Park discovered a boy’s figure, dubbed Baby Moses, beneath a Moses Statue in the year 1997, which set off the murder investigation. New advancements in DNA technology contributed to a case-by-case discovery over the summer. Regulators questioned Keri Mazzuca in September 2024, according to Daily Mail, with the interview film just being made public. Mazzuca first maintained a casual demeanor during the recorded interview, gesturing quietly and denying any link to the situation. When Detective Rob Lawyer inquired about possible turns, she reacted adversely. Mazzuca admitted sadness and said,” I did it. I did it. I did it. I did it.”
She revealed that she had the baby in her bathtub, that she had taken the child with her car, and that she had finally burned the bones. She eventually admitted to suffocating the baby despite first claiming to have given the child to a person. Contrary to her promises of natural death, the infant’s examination revealed that she had been breathing. Then Mazzuca may be recited as saying that she suffocated the baby by stuffing him in a case and that she is unsure whether she had smothered him. She received a 25-year jail sentence after making a murder plea in February, per News10. Since area workers discovered a scorched azure pillowcase containing the child’s remains in 1997, the case had remained unanswered. The neighborhood had given the child the name Moses Washington in honor of him. He was given a proper interment, a light casket, and a marble tombstone with the words” Citizen of Albany, child of God” inscribed.
