Another important liberal luminary has passed away just weeks after David Horowitz’s moving. Michael Ledeen, 83, passed away on May 17 at the age of 83.
Ledeen was a former progressive who shifted to the right as a result of his observation that progressives were veering off into anti-Americanism. He joined Horowitz and others in protesting the sin that they witnessed in this world.

Ledeen was a progressive professor who established himself as a fervent people scholar and activist with the increase of Reagan, writes Daniel Greenfield in his beautiful tribute to her at Front Page Magazine.” Like David Horowitz, whose latest passing reminded so many of the debt the movement owed to his work. He even made unwavering statements in support of principle, like Horowitz, and he would also dependably establish relationships with everyone in the fight because he knew the development of a movement may be necessary for victory.
Radical Islam was one of the horrors and dangers Ledeen and Horowitz saw. He spoke out vehemently against the dangers Jihadists face both domestically and abroad.
At the David Horowitz Freedom Center’s Restoration Weekend in 2015, he said,” I frequently tell people, you’ve seen these marches in the streets of Iran, thousands of people chanting” Death to America.” What do you believe they mean, exactly? What, in any case, is that all about? Is that a regional streets event? Do they engage in self-improvement? And the response is no. They are specifically in the right place at this point. They specifically want it to happen.
David Horowitz Cracked the Leftist Code
Most Americans won’t say “he wants to destroy us all,” he wrote these at PJ Media in 2016.” If you ask us what Egyptian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei means when he leads his trip masses in a song of” Death to America,” most Americans won’t say “he wants to destroy us all,” he wrote in 2016. ” Yes, that is precisely what he means, and if we had leaders deserving of the name, they would be creating a plan to overthrow the Tehran regime before Khamenei and his evil henchmen do abhorrent things to us.” Ok”.

Ledeen has written for centuries these at PJ Media and for other websites, and he has always cited the dangers that America was facing. He also provided advice on how to manage those risks and fend off those risks.
Ledeen didn’t make a friend to the left that he abandoned, as is frequently the case with those who “leave the booking.” Ledeen continued to fight for what he believed in even though that didn’t.
Greenfield says:
Many of the same liberals who had written acid-tongued memoirs for David Horowitz were met with contempt for Ledeen’s moving. Liberals investigated him during the Iran Contra sessions in an effort to find someone and connected him to every “right-wing crime” possible.
They detested him because he was just like David.
While many of Ledeen’s colleagues from the Reagan and Bush decades scrambled to get Not Trumpers, he saw Trump as the accomplishment of his perception of a solid America, able to hinder foreign and domestic enemies, and fought for him, Greenfield continues. Like Horowitz, he lost relationships because he backs Trump but not resisted.
I never had any relations with him while I was writing for PJ Media, which overlapped with my first few times as a contractor around. He has great talent, great information, and a lot of skills that I wish I had.
A really happy hero, Michael Ledeen was that most uncommon of all. He was a man of great conviction and a sincere desire to defend people dignity and freedom, and he was acutely and deeply conscious of the horrible destructive power of leftism, according to my friend and PJ Media coworker Robert Spencer. In all of my interactions with him over the years, he was unflaggingly friendly, upbeat, and cheerful, not angry or bitter, yet as he squared his head against those damaging forces and was attempting to stop their ostensibly inexorable advance. I greatly benefited from knowing Michael, and I’ll miss him both as well as try to emulate his calm resolve in the face of evil.

He leaves behind his three children, all of whom served in the military and defense, along with his wife Barbara, who has long been a supporter of Republican and conservative politics. He will be greatly missed, but his work lives on here at PJ Media, particularly in Spencer and Raymond Ibrahim’s writings.
