CBS ordered to pay nearly $10 million to fired executive who called anchor 'too gay', blames ‘woke mob’ pressure

According to the New York Post, CBS has been ordered to pay almost$ 10 million to a former top executive it fired before wrapping up an internal investigation into allegations that he made racist and sexist remarks. According to judge records and his attorney, the notes included calling a Black outlet” a fit man” and labeling another” to gay” After the Los Angeles Times published a report accusing him of fostering a hostile work environment, Peter Dunn, the director’s legitimate group, claimed that CBS Television Stations acted in a “woke mob.” The journalist began an internal evaluation and fired Dunn and another professional. Before the research was finished, Dunn was fired, though. CBS at the time stated that the termination would be handled” as though without cause,” but that the business may look back after the investigation was finished. After the evaluation was finished, CBS attempted to reclassify Dunn’s departure as” for reason,” which would have allowed the company to deny again pay and share awards. A section of retired courts determined that the company had violated his work commitment through mediation. CBS had no right to postpone its determination on whether the fire was justified, according to the appeals screen. According to the agreement, the company had to make that determination at the time of termination, no retroactively. The broadcaster was unable to create a “new and vague second option” to defer its decision, according to arbitrators. Full compensation for Dunn must now be paid by CBS, or$ 9.78 million, plus interest. This was never concerned with Peter’s behavior. According to Dunn’s attorney, Larry Hutcher,” It was to satisfy the woke mob.” According to CBS, the decision was similar to the Red Scare, which was also very foolish and cruel. ” Four years ago, we removed Peter Dunn as head of the CBS Television Stations for causes that have been well documented and reported publicly,” a spokesperson said. According to Hutcher,” This decision was certainly based on the substance of the allegations against Mr. Dunn.” CBS may have merely suspended Dunn and waited until the investigation was complete before making a decision regarding his work. The wisest course of action would have been to dismiss him, give him, wait until the investigation is complete, and then fire him, he said. He added that Dunn had been focusing on restoring his notoriety after working for CBS for more than 20 years. We are pleased that Mr. Dunn and the pertains board agreed that he had been unfairly terminated, Hutcher said. In order to maintain this decision, CBS maintains that it stands by the results of its research and the resulting conclusions. We’re appreciative of the numerous voices that spoke out in a procedure that caused major social change at our television channels, the company continued.
