DC shooter Elias Rodriguez flew on United Airlines plane with gun, declared it in checked baggage
Elizas Rodriguez brought a weapon home from Chicago after declaring it to the airport.

Elias Rodriguez, the 31-year-old Chicago man who killed two young Jewish officials, flew from Chicago to Virginia with his gun. He also declared the rifle in his checked bag, according to an FBI affidavit. Rodriguez has been detained and charged with murder, but many more concerns have remained unresolved, including how he flew from Chicago with a weapon. Turns out he complied with all the needs and also had a permit to use the weapon. Rodriguez flew from ChicagoO’Hare Airport in Illinois to Reagan National Airport in Virginia, according to flight records that United Airlines provided in May 2025. Also, Rodriguez declared and flew with a rifle in his checked bag, according to United Airlines ‘ information. Rodriguez therefore used a firearm to cross state lines, according to the FBI oath.

How Rodriguez killed the Jewish diplomats

Rodriguez was seen at the scene while wearing a blue jacket, item, and hooded raincoat, according to several eyewitnesses. In the rain, a see witnessed him attempting to light a cigarette. One witness noticed his strange behavior and heard noises as four individuals left the Hebrew Museum. Rodriguez motioned as if he was trying to shoot the gun, but it wasn’t firing, the testimony ducked down and therefore looked at him. The witness then observed Rodriguez running away and making motions with his arms as though he were throwing an image. Rodriguez perhaps threw aside the weapon after firing it, and police found it close to where the witness had observed Rodriguez making the throwing motion. Authorities officers reviewed surveillance footage immediately before and during the filming, when Rodriguez was seen crossing F Street Northwest in the direction of the gallery. Rodriguez repeatedly fired on the backs of the younger officials before coming near to them and firing many more times as they fell to the ground. Rodriguez followed behind the female sufferer as she attempted to escape, and he fired once more. Rodriguez fired several times to make sure both the male and the man were dead before the man sat away.
