The Department of Homeland Security announced on Wednesday that it would prohibit foreign students from enrolling at Harvard, the country’s oldest school and one of the most prominent in the world.  ,
Dr. Alan Garber, leader of Harvard, wrote in a letter that” we condemn this immoral and unnecessary action.” It threatens the future of thousands of Harvard students and scholars, and it serves as a reminder to many others who have come to America to pursue their education and realize their dreams.
The Harvard leadership has stated that it has not followed a list of demands sent on April 16 in relation to student protests and racism over the past five years. The Chinese Communist Party allegedly influenced the state, too.
Government claimed that it had revoked Harvard’s accreditation for the Student and Exchange Visitor Program, which in turn had halted the university’s ability to accept foreign students.
Harvard claimed in the complaint that the Trump administration was “blatantly violating the First Amendment, the Due Process Clause, and the Administrative Procedure Act.”
The government’s latest act is “in direct retaliation” against Harvard for exercising its First Amendment rights to contest the president’s demands to command Harvard’s governance, curriculum, and the”ideas of its faculty and students,” according to the lawsuit.
Additionally, it stated that the school was working to meet the requests, and a notice from the leadership criticized the academy for its inability to combat antisemitism.
The petition highlighted the “unprecedented nature and scope” of the data requests for each student card holder, which total approximately 7, 000 individuals from Harvard’s 13 colleges. Harvard claimed to have provided the necessary details on April 30 and had also followed-uped with a demand.
The government “has attempted to remove a third of Harvard’s student body, which are international students who significantly contribute to the University and its mission,” according to the lawsuit.
Government deemed Harvard’s answer “insufficient” on May 22 without citing any regulations with which Harvard failed to comply, the lawsuit continued.
Attorney General Pam Bondi, Attorney General Pam Bondi, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem were among some named in the complaint.
JUDGE BLOCKS TRUMP ADMINISTRATION FROM RESCAPING FOREIGN STUDENTS’ LEGAL STATUS
The college indicated that it would obtain a temporary restraining order and request that a judge stop DHS’s action right away.
Trump has threatened to  reduce its tax-exempt position,  cut financing, and  interfere with Harvard in almost a hundred threats, including threatening to  bar it from receiving federal research grants.
