Another now-famous tale is Biden’s inaction at a 2024 fundraising event. A few weeks afterwards, Clooney wrote an op-ed in which he urged Biden to step down. Some people speculate that Clooney was persuaded to leave when Biden lost all memory of who he was at that time.
