Erdogan, Sharif discuss boosting cooperation in def, intel-sharing

Erdogan’s department said the two nations would work together to improve participation, especially in those in defense, energy, and transport, after meeting with Pakistani prime minister Shehbaz Sharif in Istanbul on Sunday. Turkey and Pakistan have close ties, both of which share historical ties and are mostly Muslim nations, and Turkey showed its support for Pakistan during recent clashes with India. Erdogan’s business claimed that he told Sharif that increasing cooperation in education, sharing of intelligence, and technical support was in the interests of Turkiye and Pakistan. Hakan Fidan, the head of the Turkish government, Yasar Guler, the defense minister, and Ibrahim Kalin, the country’s knowledge company, all took part in the conference. After India launched military strikes on April 22 that resulted in the deaths of 26, generally tourists, in J&amp, K earlier in May, Erdogan expressed his solidarity with Pakistan.
