Will Donald Trump’s ‘big beautiful bill’ pass the Senate? GOP senator says Republicans can 'stop the process'
Donald Trump believes that the Big Beautiful Bill may be passed by July 4th.

The House perhaps had passed the House’s highly prized One Big Beautiful Bill Act after months of internal group fighting, but the Senate’s future is still uncertain. Senator Ron Johnson, a Republican from Wisconsin, has warned that the bill’s current form does not have enough support to pass the lower chamber, according to the New York Post. Johnson said,” We have enough to stop the process until the president takes the spending reduction and deficit seriously.” Trump’s bill includes an extension of Trump’s 2017 tax cuts, increased defense spending, stricter border controls, and energy changes. Additionally, the national debt ceiling has been raised by$ 4 trillion. The Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget estimates that the policy could increase the gap by as much as$ 3.1 trillion over the next ten years. Johnson said,” That’s a red line for me,” drawing attention to what he and others perceive as unsustainable spending. On Thursday, the act was surprisingly defeated with a 215–214 voting. Despite having a lean majority, the party has experienced domestic disagreement for months. Trump’s bold plan is expected to face new challenges now that the act is before the Senate. Democrats have a 53-47 majority in the room, but not all legislators are in favor. Senator Rand Paul, another outspoken critic of the policy, appeared on Fox News Sunday, blaming the president’s effects on the country’s finances. I don’t believe it’s a serious proposal to “explode deficits” and that the projections are currently looking at over$ 3 trillion in deficits over the next ten years. “I’ll vote for the rest of the costs if they remove the bill ceiling.” However, I am unable to support raising the bill ceiling.” Some Democratic senators, including conservatives like Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Susan Collins of Maine, have expressed concern about the proposed Medicaid changes in the bill. The changes to healthcare were also cited as a potential deal-breaker by Missouri senator Josh Hawley before. Senate Majority Leader John Thune acknowledged the upward climb. According to the New York Post,” The Senate will have its impression on it.” He noted that boards in the Senate are working to identify” Byrd problems,” problems that could cause the bill to fail under the healing process, which allows policy to go with a simple lot rather than a filibuster-proof 60 votes. Concerning possible Senate changes, Speaker Johnson remarked,” I have a very delicate balance around, a very fragile parity that we have reached over a long period of time, and it’s best not to interfere with it too much. Trump claims he wants to pass the One Big Beautiful Bill Act by July 4th.
