US President Trump stated on Monday that he is considering giving$ 3 billion in earlier awarded grant money to trade colleges across the US. His comments, which were posted on Truth Social, come less than a week after his presidency vowed to stop the Ivy League institution from allowing foreign students to enroll. In recent months, Trump has frozen roughly$ 3 billion in grants to Harvard, which has prompted the school to file a lawsuit to get the money restored. The majority of that grant money is used by Congress for the National Institutes of Health to fund biological research, but this is not usually done at business colleges. Harvard did not respond to a request for comment right away. What particular funds does Trump want to recycle, the White House did not respond right away. A US judge temporarily stymied Harvard’s ability to accept international students on Friday, which the Ivy League school claimed was a part of Trump’s wider campaign to fight against for refusing to” surrender its intellectual independence.” The order provides temporary relief to hundreds of foreign students who were facing possible exchange repercussions due to a practice the college described as a “blatant contravention” of the US Constitution and other governmental regulations. The move, according to the statement, would have “immediate and destructive effects” on the college and more than 7, 000 visa holders. In its current academic year, Harvard enrolled nearly 6,800 foreign pupils, or 27 % of the entire class. The action was the most recent development in a broader conflict between the White House and Harvard, as Trump tries to convince businesses, law offices, media, courts, and other organizations to adhere to his goals.
