'We will find a way to survive': Iran says it can withstand failed nuclear talks as Trump praises progress
Egyptian President Masoud Pezeshkian and US President Donald Trump

Egyptian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated on Monday that Iran would be able to thrive if continuing discussions with the US over its atomic programme fail to produce a resolution. His comments came after US President Trump described “very good” trip talks with Tehran. If they don’t agree to deal with us or impose sanctions, “it’s not like we may die of hunger,” Pezeshkian said. The high-level discussions started in April and purpose to settle a ten-year-old conflict over Iran’s nuclear interests. If no new agreement is reached, Trump has threatened to put down Iran and launch defense and restrictions. Tehran’s most important agreement with Washington since the US withdrew from the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA ), which had set strict restrictions on Iran’s nuclear program in exchange for sanctions relief. Iran continues to insist that its nuclear actions are only for human purposes and seeks redress from restrictions that have had a significant impact on its oil-based business. The second round of negotiations was marked by discussions in Rome next week. Important disputes persist, particularly regarding uranium enrichment, despite some indications of a limited headway. When questioned about reports that Iran may agree to suspend enrichment for three years, foreign ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei said,” Iran does not accept that.” We are even optimistic if there is kindness on the National side, he continued. Talks won’t go anywhere, though, according to Trump, who has since retake company, has tightened sanctions and kept military threats on the table. His latest remarks, but, suggest a possible softer tone as both parties consider the costs of continuing to argue.
