Local residents on May 23 witnessed the scene of heavily armed officers from the NYPD’s 5th Precinct escorting crypto trader, John Woeltz, out of his luxurious room in a light bathrobe.
According to a legal problem that was made available to CBS News New York, his bloodied prey had escaped from Woeltz’s SoHo house earlier that morning at around 9:37 a.m. and alerted the authorities to the location where he had been held prisoner and subjected to several months of harsh treatment.
After arriving in New York from Italy on May 6 and 6 , Woeltz and his alleged accomplice abducted the unknown target.
The victim was transported to Bellevue Hospital by an EMS staff, where he has been listed as stable.
According to The NY Post, police found several gruesome Polaroids depicting the sufferer being abused, insulted, and bound, including a picture showing a gun being pointed at his head.
According to the NYPD, thirty-seven-year-old Woeltz was charged with two counts of second-degree abuse, first-degree theft, immoral prison, and criminal hands of a tool.
Eventually, the government revealed that 24-year-old Manhattan resident Beatrice Folchi had also been detained and charged as an friend.
Although the NYPD has not yet provided any details about Folchi’s connection with Woeltz, she is facing one count each of first-degree kidnapping and first-degree immoral prison of the 28-year-old European member.

However, the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office stated that it had “declined to indict” Folchi “pending more analysis” following Woeltz’s trial.
Woeltz was ordered to sacrifice his card as a flight risk at his May 24 trial in New York County Criminal Court, and he was detained without parole.
Woeltz and his accomplice allegedly plotted to extract the victim from Italy for millions of euros in crypto coins by plotting to steal one of his former business partners.
According to the prosecution, he and Folchi had formerly forced the victim to send him some money under duress before luring the Roman to his home under the pretense that he and Folchi may recoup.
The upscale 19th-century brick townhouse and former Catholic school on 38 Prince Street, where the kidnapping occurred, were being rented out by the crypto investor for between$ 30, 000 and$ 40,000 per month. Years ago, the original torture chamber was sold out and turned into a posh eight-bedroom home.
The victim claimed that the pair held him prisoner and had taken his passport and electric possessions when he first arrived at Woeltz’s residence. Then they tied him up with electric wires and clipped an Apple AirTag to his chest to avert leave.
The accused then proceeded to pistol-whip the sufferer with a rifle, taser him with a gun, cut his shoulder with a chainsaw, and force him to smoking crack cocaine. According to the legal problem, they also threatened to execute someone if they didn’t provide them with his Bitcoins password. Additionally, they reportedly promised to cut off his limbs with a saw and crime his whole family if he omitted their request.

The victim was only able to escape after telling officers he had to reveal the Bitcoin passcode on his laptop  before being informed that he would be put to death on May 23 for breaking the law.
According to prosecutors, he somehow managed to escape after his prisoners left to get his notebook.  ,
