Professor says it’s really dishonest to assert that this is a risk to Trump.

If President Donald Trump does not agree with a national judge’s order to stop the dismantling of the Education Department, a weather doctor from the University of Pennsylvania suggested the nation is in” next act place.”

Professor Michael Mann wrote on Bluesky on Thursday, causing backlash, saying “if Trump doesn’t comply, we’re in second amendment territory.”

According to Headline USA, several well-known observers assumed that he was calling for armed resistance, and he has since censured his position.

The second amendment refers to the right of the people to rise up and defend democracy, he wrote in a second post on Friday. It is very dishonest to claim that this is a threat to Trump.

In response to the post, Libs of TikTok wrote on X,” Hi @FBI, this climate scientist and professor at @Penn appears to be calling to kiII Trump and Trump officials.” &nbsp,

A federal judge’s recent decision to stop President Trump’s efforts to demolish the Education Department, which has issued an injunction that stops the mass termination of over 1,300 employees and orders their reinstatement, motivated Mann’s remarks.

Mann was appointed as the University of Pennsylvania’s first vice president for climate science, policy, and action in October.

However, according to the Washington Free Beacon,” Federal law enforcement officials may be interested in Mann’s apparent threat because they have been quick to look into similar public threats against the president.”

Mann criticized the new” End DEI” reporting portal for the U.S. Department of Education in a previous article on Bluesky.

In response to the portal, which allows parents to report “diversity, equity, and inclusion” efforts in K-12 schools, he responded,” I believe Hitler had a program like this.”

Mann has previously attracted attention for his remarks on the environment.

He claimed last June that it is extremely hot as a result of climate change. However, he said that future issues can be avoided” by getting off fossil fuels.”

Scott Atlas, a senior fellow at Stanford’s Hoover Institution, called for people to “rise up” in a 2020 tweet in a similar instance of social media scrutiny.

A student newspaper called The Stanford Daily published an article that interprets the tweet as inciting violence.

According to Atlas ‘ tweet,” The only way this stops is if people rise up.” You get what you accept, according to the governor of Michigan. new COVID-19 restrictions for Gretchen Whitmer.

MORE: Law professor:” Fight against Trump” and “fix bayonets” ( metaphorically )

Michael Mann was interviewed on the book” Our Fragile Moment” in 2023, CBS News/YouTube.
