California Governor When Gary Newsom came up with the issue of adhering to the state’s regulation on sex identity and Donald Trump’s executive order to outlaw kids from playing female ‘ sports, he probably thought he was being being smart.

According to California law, players are allowed to engage in activities that are consistent with their sex identity. A transgender athlete competes as a woman who placed first in the qualifiers in the long climb and triple leap, earning her a spot in the state finals.
Trump learned about the information and addressed it on Truth Social, criticizing California for allowing the transgender athlete to engage and threatening to withdraw “large level Federal funding… possibly completely.”
In a clear attempt to lessen his reputation as a radical leftist, Newsom publicly opposed biological male athletes competing in girls ‘ sports in March. He made an effort to make sense of the situation, persuading the California Interscholastic Federation ( CIF), the state’s sport body, to impose a new law in advance of the state championships.
Any natural women student-athlete who would have earned the second qualifying mark for one of their Section’s automated qualifying entries for the CIF State meet but did not achieve the CIF State at-large mark in the finals at their Section match was given the opportunity to compete in the 2025 CIF State Track and Field Championships, according to the federation in a statement. The CIF believes that this captain access process provides the opportunities for participation for our student athletes.
According to Politico, “athletes who were born feminine and fell one spot short of making the slice for the future nationwide championship at qualification meets around the state will now be allowed to compete.”

The transgender swimmer still has the opportunity to engage in the long leap and triple jump finals. The only change is that actual girls who have already qualified for the working may be permitted to thrive.
The phrase is confusing and appeals to no one but Gavin Newsom.
A representative for Newsom said in a statement that the CIF’s proposed captain is a “reasonable, polite way to navigate a difficult issue without compromising aggressive fairness.” The Governor is encouraged by this thoughtfulness.
It’s unclear whether the CIF intended for the change to apply to all competitions or just those in which transgender athletes have qualified for the last.
The Chino Valley school board’s leader, Sonja Shaw, suggested that the law was an affront to ladies.
Girls shouldn’t have “pilot programs” to get what they previously paid, according to Shaw. They “deserve their lanes, their protection, their names, and their coming.”
Their “pilot entry procedure” is nothing more than damage control after allowing  , men to dominate women ‘ events. It’s a step in the right direction, we’ll get it. You are aware of the efforts of a few great people in CIF (you are aware of who you are ).  ,
Let’s be clear, though: If a female athlete must wait to get invited after being denied a female company, that’s no addition; it’s discrimination. I blame Newsom, the CA Dep of Ed, and the other cowards who are holding the CIF hostage  .
Every girl who trains, sacrifices, and competes with integrity is in direct violation of Title IX.

Gavin Newsom is not a Solomon. He might think he can split the difference and not be perceived as opposed to transgender equality or as opposed to the idea of gender birth control. According to pro-girl advocates, Newsom is actually using damage control.
Girls who were unfairly eliminated are suddenly back in for State this weekend, according to Sophia Lorey of the , California Family Council. This is a step in the right direction, but remember that this never ought to have happened. Boys don’t belong in girls ‘ sports.
Newsom is unable to “finesse” this or apply a band-aid to the issue. He ought to take a stand if he intends to do so. Political rhetoric won’t cut it.  ,
