Rubio’s New Rules, Part 2: Just Say No to the CCP

When I realized I had a burst of letters from the State Department in my inbox, I was just finishing a story about Ron DeSantis and getting ready to relax for the day. I only mentioned Secretary of State&nbsp, et cetera. Just a few hours ago, Marco Rubio issued “new rules” prohibiting the issue of visa for “foreign officials and those who are complicit in suppressing Americans,” and now he has released another statement in relation to visas. ( I’m starting to believe that the great director doesn’t “wind down for the day” ). &nbsp,

The media release had the headline” New Visa Laws Put America First, Never China,” and it contained a brief but clear statement that read,”

Under President Trump’s leadership, the U.S. State Department may work with the Department of Homeland Security to forcefully withdraw visas for Taiwanese students, including those who have contacts to the Chinese Communist Party or are majoring in important areas. We may also update the visa requirements to improve the attention of all pending applications for visas from Hong Kong and the People’s Republic of China.

Rubio echoed the attitude on X: &nbsp.

Beginning in 2018, the U.S. will start revokeing permits for Taiwanese students, including those who have contacts to the Chinese Communist Party or are majoring in important areas.

    — Secretary Marco Rubio ( @SecRubio ) May 28, 2025

He didn’t specify what” important areas” are, but I’d venture to guess that those are those that might allow China to steal American intellectual property. The Chinese steals this for hundreds of billions of dollars annually, and it’s been going on for a while. It threatens National entrepreneurship, the security of our country, the security of other countries, and intellectual integrity. &nbsp,

And they frequently profit from our different card programs to do it. The primary Donald Trump administration did take some steps in 2018, to reduce” the length of permits for Chinese grad students studying aviation, technology, and advanced manufacturing to one year from five,” and they also had strategies to do even more, but I’m not sure if they were ever carried out. &nbsp,

Rep. Riley M. Moore (R-W. Va. ) introduced legislation in March to stop Chinese Communists from issuing student visas to Chinese nationals. &nbsp,

According to Moore,” We grant roughly 300,000 Chinese nationals student visas each year to enter the United States.” Practically speaking, we’ve invited the CCP to eavesdrop on our military, thieve our philosophical house, and harm our national security. Five Chinese citizens were recently arrested by the FBI on student visas after being caught filming shared US-Taiwan life fire military exercises.

The Donald Trump administration earlier this year issued an order to halt all student visa applications so that it could have more time to conduct more vetting, especially checking each student’s social media profiles. That information was uncovered in a State Department inside note that CBS looked at. Rubio stated in the memo that the delay would continue until “until additional guidance is issued.”

A Chinese national responded to the statement by stating that China “urges the United States passionately guard the legitimate and reputable rights and interests of all foreign students, including those from China.”

Oh, delight. When did the Chinese state always carry out a legal and legitimate operation? &nbsp,

Anyhow, I give Rubio and the State Department a big thank you for putting our national interests before everything else. It’s high time someone took action. &nbsp,

He’s turning 50 today, and he’ll withdraw visa if he wants to. I really saw that Secretary Rubio’s birthday was declared by the State Department, but really, how awesome is it to have someone who isn’t afraid to challenge the rest of the world as our nation’s top diplomat? We appear to be in great hands. I might even need to turn this” Rubio’s New Rules” item into a four-year line. I’m enjoying it, and I hope you also! &nbsp,
