According to a new review, China has been deploying a sizable amount of marine and coast guard boats in the Pacific region, including aircraft carriers close to Taiwan and Japan, to show its military could over the past month.

According to three local security officials and local military engagement documents, China has deployed larger fleets of ships close to Taiwan, the South China Sea, the East China Sea, and the southwestern Chinese islands in recent weeks than it has usually done.

News reports that China deployed nearly 60 boats on May 21 and over 70 boats on May 27 in regional military exercise records. According to the outlet, about 75 % of China’s boats were naval ships, including warships, coast guard warships, and guided-missile ships.

Additionally, according to military records obtained by Reuters, China deployed the&nbsp, Shandong Carrier Strike Group, and Liaoning Carrier Strike Group to Taiwan’s southeast beach.

An unidentified security national told Reuters that China was “exerting strain on the whole of the first area network amid global political uncertainties” when addressing its movements in the local waters from Japan through Taiwan and from the Philippines to Borneo.

China is” trying to reinforce their dominance,” the security official told Reuters. The unnamed official added that China’s Liaoning aircraft carrier conducted military drills this month to simulate attacks against foreign aircraft and ships close to the East China Sea and Yellow Sea.

Another security official told Reuters that China’s increased naval presence over the past month was “obvious” and that it was “obvious.”

The anonymous official stated that” China clearly wants to show that these are its home waters and that it can operate wherever and whenever it wants.”

China has conducted a number of live-fire military exercises over the past few weeks, including one that targeted the southwestern region of Taiwan, according to Reuters. The Liaoning Carrier Strike Group has been tracked this week as it passes through Japan’s southern islands, according to the outlet, in addition to China’s military exercises.

The Japanese government intends to keep a close eye on relevant movement and do its utmost to carry out monitoring and surveillance activities, Japan’s Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshimasa Hayashi said to reporters on Wednesday.
